Camino Wisdom Stories

‘Backpacking is the art of knowing what not to take.’  Sheridan Anderson

Your loyal companion.  The holder of your real, and imaginary, needs.  Large, small, heavy, light, brand-new, ancient, balanced, lopsided, lost, found; how did you ‘relate’ with your backpack on your Camino?  Did you:

  • feel daunted when you realized you’d have to carry it day after day?

  • find yourself giving it a name?

  • ‘lighten the load’ by somebody else unexpectedly carrying it for you?

  • carry your ‘fears’ inside it?

  • inadvertently let it have its own ‘Camino’ adventure without you?

  • find yourself ‘walking taller’; with it proving to be natural medicine?

  • struggle to give yourself permission for it to be transported to the next albergue?
