‘My Ultimate Place’
There is only one life
you can call your own
and a thousand others
you can call by any name you want.David Whyte
Bill Plotkin, author of Nature and the Human Soul, writes ‘a life in this sense is your way of being in the world – your place in the world. The one place you can call your own is your unique and ultimate place.’
He explains ‘a thing’s ultimate place corresponds to the set of relationships that this thing has with all other things in the world….we are calling attention to the very core or heart of a thing’s identity, its decisive meaning or significance, its raison d’etre.’
Did you become aware of or get closer to, on or after your Camino, your ‘ultimate place’ which may be a new way of being? Perhaps you:
felt more connected with yourself, others, nature and the web of life
sensed an inwardly richer version of yourself coming out into the world
found yourself being guided in an unexpected and unknown direction by an ‘inner GPS’…
thought ‘there has to be something more than this’
discovered your ‘ultimate place’ and it speaks to a life nothing like the life you had before
